Kids are crazy! But they’re also imaginative, thoughtful, creative, and so much fun. Their rooms often reflect all that they are, and that usually is not organized! Luckily, there are some awesome products out there that make kids room organization easier for you and fun for them.
Fun and Easy Kids Room Organization Solutions
Use a bean bag cover to store stuffed animals.
My son has one special teddy bear and keeps the rest of his stuffed animals (and my childhood stuffies) in his bean bag. It’s the perfect solution because kids will have to clean up their stuffed animals if they want to sit on their bean bag. Using stuffed animals as bean bag stuffing is a great idea for kids who have don’t play with their stuffies anymore.
If your kids still play with their stuffed animals a lot, a wire basket or corner hammock is a great option.
Use fun toy bins for storage.
My kids are more happy to pick up toys when they have a special toy bin. I was once shopping for toy bins, and my son was just as excited for the Star Wars BB-8 bin as he was for toys. My 4-year-old collects Thomas and friends minis, so we got him this suitcase to store them in, and he loves filling it up. Which means there are no more little trains on the floor. Woohoo!
Some popular options are Disney Cars organizer bins and Disney princess organizers.
If it’s too much to buy colorful character bins, an easy solution is to get basic storage bins and attach a picture of the toys that belong inside. Your kids can even decorate the bin more if they want.
Get kid-sized coat racks.
Coat racks and hooks are a great way to teach kids to hang up their things. A simple, small coat rack is enough, but a safari stool like this one is extra fun!
I dream of one day having a mud room with lots of hooks and cubbies for everyone.
Create a special display of kids’ books.
We have a bookcase like this for kids books, and I love it. My son enjoys displaying his books. I also love the idea of hanging baskets or wood crates on the wall for book storage.
Take advantage of closet organizers.
The rod in my son’s closet is too high for him to reach, so these closet organizers are lifesavers! We have one to store his clothes and one to store puzzles and games.
I also have this modular closet on my wish list. A fun place to store clothes might just motivate my kids to put them away.
I hope these kids’ room organization hacks help you save some sanity and bring some order to all those things we have for our little humans. Cheers!
